Members interested in joining this group are encouraged to bring along a family tree (if they have one) and a list of problems the need solving, which we hope to be able to find some solutions (no guarantees)

When does the group meet: 2nd Wednesday morning of each month

What does the group do: This is a diffuse group interested in looking at local history and local matters, we meet twice a month at the Meadow Covert pub (usually). We have enjoyed a visit to Holme Pierrepoint Church and Hall and are planning to have a mini excursions to parts of Bridgeford, Edwalton and Gamston in the near future, and look at the changes that have taken place there (especially in the periods 1850 to date).

What does the group do:
This group invites well informed speakers to tell us about a scientific topic and to lead discussion. Talks have ranged from global warming to new textiles, rearing pigs, cosmic rays and on to an everyday application of relativity.
All talks are aimed at a lay audience so you do not have to be a scientist to understand the topic.
